Lairon
Lairon is the 3rd Generation Iron Armor Pokémon that evolves from Aron and into Aggron. Lairon is a stocky, armored, Pokémon with four short legs. Its back is covered with segments of iron armor, each with a high ridge and round dark holes on the sides.
Lairon smashes its steely body against others in battle over territory, and shows off its strength with the size of sparks it creates by ramming into rocks. It drinks nutritious mineral spring water and feeds on iron contained in rocks. It builds its nest on mountains where iron ore is buried, which results in it clashing with humans that are iron mining.
Lairon Walnut Pesto Gnocchi
Style inspired by the Steel Pokemon Lairon, this whole wheat gnocchi mixed with a walnut pesto creates a good solid meal!
Equipment
- Saucepan
- Food Processor
- Colander
Ingredients
- 200 g Gnocchi
- 100 g Walnuts halved
- 1 Garlic Clove
- Basil roughly torn
- 100 g Pecorino grated
- 50 g Butter
- 4 tbsp Olive Oil
- 50 ml Double Cream
Instructions
- Boil the gnocchi in a saucepan of salted boiling water and cook for 10-15 minutes until cooked.
- Add the walnuts and garlic into a food processor and whizz until finely chopped. Add the basil, cheese, butter and oil and pulse a few more time. Season with salt and pepper.
- Pour the cream into a saucepan and warm through. Pour in the pesto and stir well over a gentle heat.
- Before draining, spoon 2 tbsp of the Gnocchi water into the sauce. Drain the gnocchi and mix into the sauce before serving. Sprinkle any extra Pecorino and basil over the dishes.
